Do you offer a demo version?

We now have a demo version of Fone Folio available for Java phones.  To install, use your phone's WAP browser to go to our web site: http://www.fonefolio.com and click on "Downloads".  Then click on the link for Fone Folio.  If your wireless carrier displays a warning that you're downloading from an "Untrusted domain" please ignore it.  Your phone will download the application and install it.  After it's installed, go to your applications and run Fone Folio.  When asked to "Choose", pick "Try demo".

How much does Fone Folio cost?

Fone Folio is sold as a subscription.  You get unlimited use for only $5.99 (US) per month.

How much storage space is included with my subscription?

Your account includes 1MB of compressed space.  This will hold approximately 500 pages of text or 256 pictures (based on a 128x128 screen).  We can configure your account for more space if you need it.  Please contact us for pricing.

Do I need to leave my PC on all the time?

No you do not.  Once you've added your files to Fone Folio you're done.

What kind of phone do I need?

Fone Folio has been designed from the ground up to have very limited requirements, so almost any modern mobile phone can run it.  The application will run with either a Java™ enabled mobile phone with at least 256Kb of heap memory or a phone with a WAP 2.0 browser.  Your phone must also be capable of accessing the internet.

How big is the Fone Folio "jar" file?

Some phones have a maximum size limit on Java applications that can be installed.  The Fone Folio jar is just 80 KB.

Will Fone Folio run on my BlackBerry^®?

We provide a special version of Fone Folio that supports RIM Blackberry devices.  You need a series 6700, 7100, 7200, 7500, 7700 or 8700 device with OS 4.0 or greater.  No BES is required.

How can I tell if Fone Folio will work on my phone?

We provide an online compatibility test page to check your phone for the proper requirements.  Use your phone's WAP browser to go to our web site at: http://www.fonefolio.com.  Click on the link 'Phone check'.  Your phone will be checked for Java™ and WAP 2.0 compatibility.

What are the differences between the Java and WAP versions of the phone application?

The WAP version supports all text attributes except Strikethrough and Double Underline.  Data encryption and compression with WAP require that the phone's browser be capable of supporting these features.  Dynamic actions such as zooming are not supported.  If you can run either Java or WAP, the Java version is preferred.

How do I download and install Fone Folio?

Fone Folio is made up of two parts.  Go to the downloads section and download and install the PC client application.  Next, visit our web site with the browser on your mobile phone and download and install the phone client application.  Please read the Install section in the manual for details.

What image types can Fone Folio handle?

Windows Bitmap (.bmp), JPEG (.jpg), Graphic Interchange Format (.gif), Tagged Image File Format (.tif), Portable Network Graphics (.png), Windows Meta File (.wmf), Enhanced Meta File (.emf), Aldus Placeable Metafile (.apm), Truevision File (.tga), PC Paintbrush (.pcx), Photoshop document (.psd), and Kodak Photo CD (.pcd).
